McNroe is a rising star in the world of Indian Personal Care products. The founder of the firm, Mr. Daga, is a simple man who has overcome many odds and built a business growing at 100%.
As a first generation entrepreneur, he started out as a field salesperson, traveling in the Indian sun for hours in the streets of Bhadra, Baleshwar and Cuttack in Orissa) selling Cosmetics, Biscuits etc. His next step was to set up a kirana shop in Bhadra, Orissa.
In 1992, he expanded into wholesale distribution of products of MNC corporates in the FMCG categories for eastern region of India.
In 1996, He set up his first plant, naming the company McNroe, in Orissa with a view to manufacture personal care products. After working for several years in personal care at grass roots level, he was convinced that Indian consumers are ready for hi-quality products, made in India, by an Indian company.
The business survived several difficult times including the Super-Cyclone that hit Orissa in 1999 wiping out company stock, setting the nascent company back by many years. It took three years and to re-establish McNroe to its former glory.
